BuffEnuff® Power Massager (Oscillatory) versus Theragun® (Reciprocating) Percussion Massager - Which one should I buy?

How BuffEnuff Percussion Massager Compares to Other Percussive Massagers on the Market and What Makes it a Must-Have Purchase for 2019!

So you're thinking about purchasing a BuffEnuff® Power Massager, an oscillatory percussion massager, but you have some questions. Here are some common ones some people ask about the emerging market of percussion massagers. I am going to address them and give you some of the pros and cons of both types of percussion massagers and why you should be thinking that you must have a BuffEnuff® and then if you're able and finances allow a second percussion massage purchase, then purchase the other type of percussion massager called the reciprocating action massager.

Questions:

If you have to decide and have a limited budget, which percussion massager gives you the best bang for your buck?

Theragun @ $599 vs BuffEnuff® @ $229.95 -  The cost speaks for itself.Think that's an easy answer, though the Jigsaw massage tools and some of the other competition is more affordable.

What's the difference between the two types of percussion massagers and is one better than the other?

BuffEnuff is oscillatory meaning it delivers both circular massage action and reciprocating when Tilt® or Edge® contact is used, giving more versatility. Theragun and other similar tools have only uniplanar and one-dimensional motion (up and down).

I already have an oscillatory massager, should I get a reciprocating massager or vice versa?

Yes, if you can afford both. Though the BuffEnuff® will give you more value and more applications.

Let's start by tackling the obvious question is one better than the other and which one is the most useful in most applications. Neither type of percussion massager is necessarily better than the other one as they both have positive therapeutic value. The BuffEnuff® gives a strong and deep penetrating massage, especially when the Edge® or Tilt® contacts are used and the therapist provides deep pressure. The motor and components of the BuffEnuff® are designed to handle the challenges of clinical settings and hardcore athletic training. Being used by professional sports teams including the Chicago Bulls and university athletic programs, the athletes using BuffEnuff® report they are able to modulate the variation between soft and deep penetration easier than a reciprocating action massager like the Theragun. When the BuffEnuff® 6-inch pad is turned on its edge, it develops an action similar to a reciprocating massager.  But what sets it apart is the ability to also lie it flat and have a broad contact for an increase in circulation and warmth delivery. You can actually feel the frictional heat generated by the BuffEnuff® and a noticeable improvement in circulation is felt within seconds of constantly held pressure. This further supported when using the Sparking® technique and represents one of the more important distinctions that gives BuffEnuff® an edge in the therapeutic arena.

Further, BuffEnuff® has the ability to also be used over bony surfaces, joints, and with elderly people who are more pain sensitive.  It also can be used in acute muscle injury and not become overly aggressive and potentially harming to already damaged vulnerable soft tissue. Instead, by using the Hovering® technique and Wrapping® technique, the ability to initiate soft tissue repair and speed recovery is demonstrable. The 6-inch pad is firm, yet soft and is more comfortable for a broader population of people. The action of the oscillatory massage feels more soothing and gets that "AH!!" response far quicker and more often.

Though the reciprocating massage action is stronger and has the capacity to give a deeper massage into tissue. This can be helpful when there are chronic knots and pain points in muscles. Some hardcore athletes find this type of deep massage helpful and certainly I agree there are a time and a place for the deep reciprocating percussion massage tools. I use a tool similar to the Theragun and find that using both the BuffEnuff® and my reciprocating tool called a PTLSM provide a more comprehensive soft tissue care.

On the downside, the reciprocating massagers can be damaging and may hurt people if the therapist, trainer, or user aren't aware of the contraindications to using this type of deep penetrating massage. Weak capillaries, acute muscle tears, bony surfaces, fractures bones, and a host of other contraindications exist and people without knowledge and proper training have to be careful with the Theragun, Jigsaw, and the other reciprocating massagers.

Still, I recommend having one of each but the first and most comprehensively valuable percussion massager is a BuffEnuff® Power Massager because it can be used with children, elderly, acute injury, with animals, and in far more clinical applications. As well, because it's cordless, it can go anywhere and be used on any court, field, or gym setting. It's also easy to travel with and has quick charging batteries. Further, our Value Package gives doctors, therapists, and trainers the versatility to have an extra battery on hand and swap the exhausted battery for a fresh one while charging the recently depleted battery.

In conclusion, I finish by reiterating the reason I began Percussion Fitness and represent the BuffEnuff® is because I do believe oscillatory percussion massage can change the world and I have seen it first hand. I've seen how people use this product, love it, and are experiencing life-changing health improvements. Now being used in Africa, Europe, and the United States, we are becoming the industry leader in helping to equip the world to heal and we are only just beginning.
